the Cabinet Office, Government Of Japan Start Meat Free Friday
A vege menu (mainly Vegan's vegetarian menu) appears in the cafeteria's cafeteria due to the staff working for the Cabinet Office, Government Of Japan.
The Cabinet Office, which is neither the Ministry of the Environment nor the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, first introduces a Vegan menu that is friendly to the environment, animals and people
When going to the cafeteria in the Congress Hall, you can only eat cucumber sushi (800 yen or so!), Rice balls at convenience stores, tomato sauce pasta without bacon at Tully's , but in this closed space of Nagatacho It was quite difficult situation to eat only for vegan.
The diversity of the food in the people working in is spreading as usual, and we expect that the efforts at the Cabinet Office will spread to other ministries and agencies as advanced cases in the future.
(If possible, we would like a Vegan menu even in the Congressional Hall where the Animal Rights Center has the opportunity to go for lobbying. It is a wishful desire.)
Happy Vegan Lunch every Friday, everyone who worked at central ministries!!!
Report from a staff of the Cabinet Office
The cafeteria office cafeteria of the Cabinet Office and Cabinet Secretariat decided to experimentally introduce vegetable lunch from Friday, March 17, 2017 (mainly for vegans). Perhaps as far as I know, I think that it is the first time among the government agencies of the Japanese government.
For the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games in 2020, many foreign visitors including vegans and vegetarians are expected. Among them, I am hoping that this decision will be an inspiration and that more restaurants will introduce vegan menu in the future. And I am very pleased if Vegan · vegetarian cuisine is totally inferior to meat and fish dishes, and recognition that it is fashionable and cool spreads wider.
